I reckon the best is a length of chain with one end bolted to your seat runners - loop the other end thru the steering wheel and secure with a padlock to the rest of the chain - takes only a few secs to lock and unlock plus it is highly visible. When not used the chain and padlock sit on the floor at your feet.

I'de personally kill the fuel pump, allowing the engine to turn over still, yet not actually start. If somone does try and stat it and not realise that the fuel pump is not runing, they may give up and walk away. (Fingers Crossed)

They still break into your car and do damage. A visible deterrent can stop the initial damage and they find another easier car.

i reckon hako's onto it, it looks like to much effort with a bomber chain there for everyone to see who wants to look in your window... you could still run the kill switch for your own piece of mind if you wanted.
i guess if the engine can still turn over but jus wont go, it stops anyone from knowin for sure theres a kill switch an goin lookin for it. so i reckon id agree with what commford1 is sayin, an kill the fuel system.

actually, put a kill switch on the ignition coil.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!

Default remove rotor button in distributor

Another way I have immobised cars is to open the bonnet, remove the rotor button from the distributor and place this in your pocket.

No wiring needed & no one will drive the car. Can end up with a flat battery though if someone tries to start the car.

Also good to stop you drink driving, because you will be toooo pissed to place the distributor button back.

i have a fully sick kill switch in my car. You need a magnet to start it and there is 3 places you need to hold the magnet to before it will allow power to both the fuel pump, starter motor and another wich i rather not disclose. he he... its not the simplest method to wire up but yeah and i also set up a way so i can buypass these when i get sick of having to move this magnet all over my cabin.

A good trick is to hide a reed switch somewhere in the cabin. All you need to do then is chuck a magnet at the "secret place" hehe and away you go. Might be a good idea to use a latching relay (can provide circuit diagram for this if neccessary) so that you only need to put the magnet there while starting car, then you can take it away and fuel pump, ecu, or whatever will stay connected until you turn the ignition off.
