indicators to go off with central locking

ok guys
wierd question but yer...want to do this

is it possible to hook the indicators up with my central locking so when i lock or unlock the car the inidcators flash in the same way as the more recent commodores

i have a vp executive and yer central locking with the button thing.

Hook up the 12V wire on your central locking to the hazard lights wire under the dash.
When the doors lock or unlock, the lights will blink.

Err you may want to put a few diodes in there...if you tie the +12 trigger to the door locking to the indicators you are effectivly tieing the two indicators together.. and both with flash when you attempt to indicate.. the indicators will also attempt to power up the locking motor everytime the indicators flash.. this could also damage the output transistors/relays on the central locking box

it could get even worse if you try to hook lock and unlock upto the indicators without any form of protection as you are effectivly shorting the earth and +12 lines of the motor together via the indicators (depending on motor setup.. the vp eludes me atm)

as simple as the idea is.. you just need some protection.
get some diodes that can handle the amperage.. grab the +12 signal from the lock on the central locking. use the two diodes on the end of the signal in parralel and goto the indicators from there
