hey guys,
ive got a VT wagon and my rear D/S door speaker and electric window has stopped working,
i was told at Peter page holden that i need to replace the wiring loom in the door.
Has anyone else had to do this? was it an easy job? or should i get someone to do it properly?
any hints will be appreciated.
make sure all the plugs are tight, yes could have broken wires in the rubber boot, unusual you would have 2 circuits go at the same time or were they at different times.
do you work for air international as in the A/C suppliers?
yeah i work at air international.
i work in the seating section but have also worked in the Air con section aswell.
the speakers went first the the electric windows about 1 month later.
ok, was just wondering about air int
if you can pull the rubber boot down tug an the wires individualy , if they are broken they probably will be around the middle, if it stetches at any point that is where the brake is, if you have a multi meter you can check the continuaty between the plug behind paneling and in the door., speaker may be open cicuit and not working
Have you checked the switches, p/window motor etc. if you have a mate with the same car, see if you can borrow switches to test on your car.
yeah i have checked all the switches abd are all in working order.
have had a look and one of the wires have come off of the white plug near the body of the car.
i pushed the wires together and the window worked but the speakers didnt.
im going to just buy the wiring loom for the door and install it .
