footwell led's help

hey guys.
i want to do the footwell les's thing and i recon i will have a crak at it myself. the only thing is i dont know what i would need to do this and i dont know what procedure i would use...i want to be able to hook it up to a switch so i can turn it on /off...but i dont know what wires i would use and what kind of platform i would use to hook them all up.....can anybody help...i cant find a how-to on this matter.

i thought that if had the wire running from the cigerrette lighter. one for each side. runing to the led's and a switch connected to those wires with the switch placed in the dash...is this it..it seems to simple. would it work????

it is that simple. power->switch->leds, plus earth on the leds

where do i attach the earth. to the led's form the actuall diodes or from the wires???
