wiring a neon to the aircon switch to show that the aircon is on

im wondering if i wire in a led to the aircon switch to show its on would work if i wire the positive to the swiched positive on the A/C Swich and the negative of the led to any ground. im 90% sure it will but just want to know. i look foward to your reply

if you want to know when its on when switch is in yes it will work
+ led to 12v side switch 360 ohm res inline and -led to ground

Cars dont come with neons unless there from a ceral box, why hook your neons upto aircon? while not other interior lights?....
