is there any chance that someone could change the odometer on a digital meter and then when u reset the ecu buy taking the battery terminal off it would go back to its orignal kms??? because i just did it on my car and its alot more than it was??? thanks

The ECU and a digital cluster operate independantly and should not effect each other. The digital cluster odometer reading is written into an eeprom and is not changed if the power is removed, the only way it will change is if it's rewritten by the digital cluster as your kms go up.

A speedo bloke can adjust the kms ...some will need proof of the kms you want it to change to ...others dont care ....I bought a second cluster off a bloke on ebay who had done it and he had the system down pat and I had plans to get the one in my car changed too but he dissapeared overnight ....reckon he was from dodgy bros inc....lucky the cluster I bought was ok.

yeh i thought it was a bit weird i just thought u couldnt change digital clusters at all. dosnt matter atm just wondering why it would change from so low kms to high thanks for your replys

If you have changed a L3 dash with a L3 dash and now have high K's - you can swap the trip computer over to get your k's back. Just be gental with the plastic.
