Got any picts..hard to work out without them...wires to the pump are a purple wire and a black wire that run from a 4 wire white coloured connector near the fuses along the driver side scuff panel under the back seat into the boot and through a grommet to the pump..the other 2 wires in the connector are for the rear demister and its earth which are purple/red and black ...so in that connector there are 2 black wires......you have to get the right black wire to get the pump to work

scotch locks are part of the problem lol, when the ignition is turned on you should have power at two points, 1, 12volt constant, 2, ignition 12v, do you have these?

if get an multimeter put it on ohms and set the multimeter to beep when it has continuity, disconnect the battery, earth one of the leads onto the body and connect the other lead to one of the loose wires, if the multimeter beeps thats an earth so the other should be a positive but test it out,
