Yes, you can. Given the time, knowledge and money you can put just about anything in. Its not a straight fit. There would be a lot of modification involved. If you can get that done, wiring would be ofcourse possible. You would need the VP and VX wiring digrams and you could just match most up. Some would not match up, wiring to certain parts etc, you would have to work these problems out as you came to them. It is a massive massive job, and you will need to be comfortable with just about rebuilding the dash and rewiring the dash - if not I wouldnt be attempting.

The gregorys should have full wiring diagrams. If you dont want to purchase one for the VX and one for the VP,you can probably go to your local library and photocopy the pages you are needing.

Wiring the VX dash into your VP if you dont have a VX style engine is not really worth it... Problem being that VT series onwards dash's use serial data to transmit the signals needed to control a lot of the the dash.

there are only 20 wires to the dash

very easy to hook up but you would only get the basics to work

tacho
speedo
indicator lights

but you will also need to wire in a diagnostic plug so you can try and program the dash .. as you will have a lot of errors with it.. airbags, fuel level sender , traction control etc...

have done 3 of these into older cars and have come up well but thye have all been running LS1 engines and we have also wired in the BCM etc... for security and so forth

to check these out goto Sideshow's Performance Wiring - Sydney Mobile custom electrical holden ford toyota nissan automotive diagrams download - Home

we have done the GEN 3 LS1 Red EH in streetmachine and just finished a rodeo with dash...
