I can't remember all the colours, but i'm 99% sure there are 2 yellows for audio input, if you have a test light touch the other wires while the radio is on and 1 will stop the sound and the screen will say phone in, the plug is located in the left side of the console.
Pull the pin in the glovebox , remove the box them undo the three screws and you will see the plug

Could you elaborate on the following "Pull the pin in the glovebox , remove the box them undo the three screws and you will see the plug"

Open the glove box and remove the black pin at the right rear corner, I use a flat blade screwdriver , push it in and twist, the pin will slowly come out, then tilt the glovebox down and wriggle it out.
3 screws will be revealed where the console is joined to the area near glovebox, undo these and you will see a connector with nothing connected , this is the phone plug

PASTED FROM ONE OF MY OTHER POSTS IN ANOTHER THREAD:

The glove box is held on by two plastic hinges that are designed as push-fit. All you do is open the glove box, then grab the top of the glove box (the edge thats facing towards you when it's open) and pull slowly but firmly to the the left, you will feel the hinge let go, then pull towards you (until the other hinge lets go) and then the glovebox will only be held in place by two rubber stops on either side. With a little manoevering you can ease these out of the groove in the dash that they run along. Alternatively you can actually pull these rubber stops out, but you shouldn't have to do this.

Then you remove two screws holding the lower trim panel up, and another screw at the other end of the trim panel (ie next to the passenger seat cushion). Remove the trim panel to reveal (I believe - I've never actually looked) the elusive phone connector.

Hi guys. Well I have just completed my installation of my car kit for my Motorola V620 in my VZ SS. It took me about 3 1/2 hours to complete but it looks pretty neat. If I get a chance I'll take a photo for you to see if you want to.

I went to Holden an bought the phone connector and pins and wired the plug myself. It was so easy it isnt funny!!

    The wire colours are:

Orange (with white stripe): +12V constant
    Black: well derr...Ground (Earth)
    Yellow: Accessories (accessories powered only)
Yellow (black stripe): Mute for car stereo
    Blue: Audio +
    Blue (White Stripe): Audio -

Not too sure of the reasons for the blue wires as I didnt need them.
Anyway, I mounted the Brain box inside the panel on the front passengers side foot well area. The speaker was mounted inside the removable panel just at your left knee in the drivers seating position. The microphone is mounted to on the right side of the interior light assembly.

    Hope this helps some guys.

Sorry about the bum steer with the glovebox, I get mixed up with all the different gloveboxes sometimes!
As for the blue audio wires, you can cut the speaker wires from the car kit and connect them to the blue audio wires and the phone sound will go thru the car sound system, much louder and you then adjust the volume of the phone call thru the radio volume control.

    3 1/2 hours! hahaha.

Most installers I know knock off a commodore install in less than 15 minutes!
wired, spkr, mic, mount cradle, run RF cable and fit antenna!
But if you were fitting 10-15 cars a day you'd expect to do them that quick!

Hey, Im not an installer either mate! hahaha
I spent 2 hours doing my head unit and secondary carkit (yep got GSM one side and CDMA the other) install on saturday!
It all works, though and thats the important part!!!!

Oh, by the way, out of curiosity, do you know how much the factory holden by design bluetooth kit is worth on the VZ. That would have been a sweet option for your V620 if it was a reasonable price.... Although most fixed bluetooth kits are less than $200 retail anyway huh! Assume HBD would be much more!

Yes Holdens bluetooth kit sells for around $495 installed. But dont forget that Bluetooth kits dont have the abaility to have an external antenna installed and this was what I needed most in a car kit!!
This is as far as I know at least. I know of one Nokia bluetooth kit that uses your phone as the "Sim Card" component but I think these are even dearer.

And like you said if you do 10-15 kits a day then you will get your speed down, but as this was the first time I have ever pulled panels out of a VZ i took my time to do it right and not break anything!!!

$495 for the HBD BT kit!!! fark!
Good point with the fixed kit. Direct RF coupling is the GO if its available to ya, and charging functionality in the kit is good too!
Yeah the Nokia 610, 810 and the soon to be released 616 are actual GSM trancievers (phones) and interface to your SIM serial number and phonebook etc via bluetooth.... Pretty cool stuff, but only same power as your handheld (2 watt 900Mhz and 1watt 1800Mhz) unlike the oldskool 6080, 6081 and 6090 GSM 900Mhz 8watt jobs! hehehe. I've just removed my 6090 in exchange for my CDMA kit. 8watt GSM was not bad, but really, your 2 watt GSM with a decent antenna will be fine as you only get 30km eitherside of a GSM tower anyway due to the way GSM is modulated......

I thought I'd let everybody know I installed the Parrot CK3100 in my VZ accalim wagon. It works really well and looks very neat. You get an LCD display that automatically synchs with my phone's phone book, thereby giving me a callerid display. The ideal place to put the LCD is between the "mode" button and centre console airvents.

Pretty good value as I got it special for $200 from Expansys. much better value than the Holden carkit and with more functionalitly. They are selling them now for $245, still the cheapest online as I could only find others selling it for $300 (RRP around $330).

can you post a pic of what the LCD looks like on the parrot?

Im considering replacing my Nokia CK7W and getting a HCB-700 (i think that the model) SonyEricsson kit with the LCD and joystick type remote. THey're around $300 too i think.

    cheers

Yes I seriously considered that model as well, but the main thing that stopped me was the limited compatibility with non sonyericsson phones. Not even all sonyericcson phones work with it, some not at all some without all functions. The parrot can even upload phone books manually so even phones without the addressbook synching profile can be supported (eg blackberry 7290). I agree that the remote control is a good idea, but if you can't work properly with your phone then it is quite pointless. It is in the interests of a neutral vendor to make every effort to make it compatible with as many brands of phones as possible.

As soon as I saw the parrot at $200 that was a done deal.

I'll post some pics soon. I'm new to this forum so if can give me a link pointing to where the instrcutions on posting a pic are, that would be great.

    Here it is.

Note that the parrot has several attachments that allow it to to be places in a variety of places have a look at Parrot Mounting brackets.

I used the the rails with the prongs which I can insert in the gap between the trim, and a bit of double sided tape to secure. I needed to bend the prongs a bit, but was able to perfectly direct the LCD display.

Just using double sided tape would have pointed the display slightly to my right. I wanted the display pointed right at me as I know it can sometimes be difficult to read LCD displays especially with the sunlight.

If you are after a kit with an LCD display I'd highly recommend getting the Parrot CK3200LS. This is a later (and better looking)bluetooth kit than the Parrot CK3100 that has a colour screen. Easy to install, great features, and able to connect to lots of phones. Got mine from Cellular Spares for $275, works like a charm.
