The WK has a VY style steering wheel, so is obviously different from your VX. If the splines are the same, which you say they are, you may be lucky. They may be compatable. Im not sure about compatability and before I did it I would be getting a definite answer. Even give holden a try. Surely there would be a VX owner out there that has tried a VY steering wheel?
Steering wheel controls are easy enough to try out, and if they have the same plug you have a good chance - unless holden decide to change the coding. The air bag would be the big one though. If each was designed for a certain signal you may find that the new one may not work when you need it, or may go off for no reason in the middle of a drive at 100km an hour. Theres no good way to test that it works, so I would definetly be finding someone who has done it and can say for sure that it works. In case you didnt know already, it probably is illegal (check with your states transport department) and your insurance company would probably be worth talking too as well. Interested to hear how it goes.
