Default Vx auto to manual loom

Im changing a vx 3.8 eco from auto to manual, ive got a manual engine loom and replaced it , my question is the loom that doesnt connect to the main engine loom, its seperate and goes to the battery terminals, alternator and aircon, is there any difference in that part of the loom from auto to manual, just wondering if i need to change that or leave the original auto one on, i cant see any difference, wonder if it will affect any other sensors etc

cheers

Hi, I have just done the same conversion and didn't replace that part of the loom. I'm having a couple of issues with funny idle and vibration but I believe it's unrelated. I assume the auto loom has something extra (plugs into neutral start switch?), but there's no need to change it.

Hi kart_racer

i didnt think there would be a difference in that loom, but thought i better check, thanks for the response and good luck sorting out the idle and vibration problem,

did you install the rigid flywheel , if so was it a vs flywheel, i see castlemaine rod shop do a rigid flywheel to suit the 3.8 eco's with auto ring gear on it , making it possible to use the cheapier and readily available auto starter motor .

thanks again
