Default vx driving lights problem

i fitted after market driving lights to my series 2 vx exec yesturday and conected it the parkers and now it blows the parker/dash illumination 10A fuse after being on for half hour. will it fix the problem if i fit a relay to it? or do i have to put in a bigger fuse aswell?

It's too much load for the fuse and not the best way to wire them up. The best way would be to use the wiring that is already there. You will find the connectors (plugs) for the lights behind the bumper, if you look from underneath the car, they are either side of the radiator. Then the connector for the switch should be behind the dash near the headlight switch. You will also need to get a relay, there is a space for it in the fuse box in the engine bay.

use the factory wiring, and get a factory switch for them to, it'll look neater.

Also, it's a legal requirement that auxilary and/or fog/driving lights are switchable.

Save your troubles, use the factory wiring, relay, switch, fuse, and you'll never have problems...

the only wires i can find are a green and a black/white trace on both sides but the drivers side has them conected to the horn. is this them or are they different colours?
