Default Moving Fuse Box in a VK

Hi all,

I am guessing this has been done before, I know I read an article about it in a street commodores mag god knows how long ago, but I want to relocate the fuses & relays from the engine bay to the cabin, (ie where that little flap is on the right hand side of the dash.

Now my question is, did any of the previous model commo's have the fuses there? I really havent got that up close and personal with the VB-VH

Cheers,
Kym

Most people who move it would just move it into the cabin around the glovebox area, as that's really the only spot u can put it without lengthening wires. It's definitely possible putting them on the right hand side if u lengthen all the wires. And yes that's where the VB-VH fuses were mounted.

Thanks for the quick reply. lengthening the wires is no problem, as the car is sitting as a bare shell atm, but as the paint work is nearly done its time for the next step, the loom... Actually going to try make the wireing neat as when the v6 conversion was done the wiring was that half assed its not funny, so time to start from scratch me thinks.

So time to check the wreckers for a vh fuse panel and work backwards from there.. Were the relays etc in the same area?

Yeah the relays were in the fuse panel as well. The fuse panel housed the indicator flasher can, hazard flasher can, the fuses, horn relay, headlight relay, wiper relay and the washer relay.

I'll go have a look see if we got one out the back.

With any luck I should be able to get away with that many, if all else fails the rest of the relays can hang behind the dash somewhere. atleast wireing it all up should be easier with no dash in
