Default Vr Calais Scantool

I have purchased 2 scantools so far, one from USA(innova3120) which sent back and the other from melbourne sent back which read obd1+2 (GM compliant).

My car is 1994 VR CALAIS with a obd2 plug but with obd1 wiring.
What scantool out there works with my car without spending over $1000

I dont want to use the efilive software and link!!, im not looking at a laptop pressing buttons whilst driving!!.
Anyone out there can help?!

if you can find a tech1 for sale or buy a generic scantool, there isnt much around that doesnt involve looking at a screen or pressing buttons, & not many of the generic tools have the logging features.
EFILive is great for this as far as set & forget.
you donr need OBD2 as your car uses UART comms, you need ALDL.
