Default Car Alarm in VS

Hey Guys,

Just installing an alarm in my VS Commodore and struggling with a few things and thought i would post here to hopefully find some answers...

A) Does anyone have a diagram or know the wire colors for things like blinkers, lights etc?

B) Where is the BCU (BCM) located and what colors do the central locking pulsing? Is it negative pulsing?

C) Where abouts would i wrap the remote start wire? I know in my older car i had to wrap it around the spark plug lead coming from the coil to the dizzy. Where would i put it in a car with EFI?

Thanks fellas and ladies

JB

I think your best bet would be to either get a gregorys or go down to your library and photocopy the pages you need. The wiring diagrams and a multimeter will answer all of your questions.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK AND TEST EVERY WIRE BEFORE CONNECTING OR DISCONNECTING!!

Hi there Red, In order to put remote start on your VS Commodore you will need a seperate module to bypass the factory immobilisation circuit. I think Viper sell one not sure how much though.

All the following wires are located in the Ignition Loom unless otherwise indicated.

Constant Power: Thick Red
Ignition: Thick Pink
Starter Motor: Thick Purple
Indicators: Thin Light blue (L), Dark Blue (R)

The Fuel Pump wire is located in the loom in behind the drivers side Kick Panel.

Fuel Pump: Thick Purple

Central Locking (negative trigger)

The central locking wires are located in the drivers side door loom (need to remove the air vent)

Brown/red stripe Lock
Brown/orange stripe Unlock

The interior light wire is located at the Body Control Module (the body control module is located on the right hand side of the steering column just above the fuse box) (need to remove 3 grey clips)

Interior Light: White/green stripe (-)

IF YOUR NOT SURE ABOUT ANY OF THIS INFORMATION THEN BEST TO LEAVE IT TO THE EXPERTS!!

instead of buying the module to bypass the stock immobiliser, you could get it turned off in the ecu if you know somebody that can burn eeproms.
*cough* greenfoam *cough*
As for the start sensing wire, when i did mine i simply wired it to constant 12V.
On my system, not sure if this will be universal, the alarm cranks the car once, then checks the start sensing wire for a voltage. If there is no voltage it continues to crank the car.
My car starts first crank EVERY time, so i've simply wired the sensing wire to 12v.

VQXTC: You might be able to help me out with my install. I've wired my negative door pin triggers to the door switches, but due to the dome light delay when i lock the car it thinks doors are still open. Is there a way to get around this? Either removing the delay completely, or some other way to wire it? Could you please PM me if you can help at all.
Cheers mate

Hope this helps.
