Angry VT Calais cluster lamps blowing

I was trying to help out my old man with replacing a blown lamp in his level 3 dash cluster and one in the climate control module,

Easy replaced the bulbs and tested them out........WTF! a different lots of globes now arn't working, nothing was shorted out and the battery was disconnected when I changed the globes.

Went to Holden and got some more very exspensive globes and thought they must have been old and replaced the next lot of blown lamps.

Only to find a third lot of globes have blown!

Job on hold till I find out whats going on, has anyone had this problem before or is there a known fault with these models?

Thanks

its common practice to replace the complete set of illumination globes in these when 1 blows.

they seem to do this a lot.

Is there a cheaper alternative than the factory globes?

you can probably get the globes & fit them to the holders if youre prepared to fiddle around doing it.
