Driving lights on with headlamps is ILLEGAL.

Fog lamps on with headlamps is just B.....DY stupid and inconsiderate. Consider the safety of other road users and the increased lavel of glare and distraction you may cause by using 'wanker' lights with headlights. In Victoria they have introduced legislation to outlaw the practice. Wouldn't be at all surprised if NSW also has such law(s).

Take it easy mate, theres no need to get upset!!
I wanted to be able to have my driving lights on with my headlights for a number of reasons! First i do a bit of travel between Brisbane and Gympie (about a 2 and a half to 3 hour trip) and when driving @ night the stretch of highway can be very hazardous to say the least, so i wanted to add a bit more light, and im reluctant to add spotties as they are hazardous to oncoming traffic (2 sets of high beams)! the second is 'wank' factor as you put it but hey i like it so why not? Im out to make myself happy not to impress everyone else! third the lights i have installed are no brighter than my ordinary headlamps (50w) there not spotties or anything and there not foggies either, i have stood back and had a look (with a few other people) and they like them and have not said that they are glareing or anything like that in fact because they are so close to the ground they only really add a bit more light to the edge of the road! also add to the fact i see a truck load of other newer cars getting around with them on (factory fitted) both headlights/driving lights on together, so i cannot really see the problem? with all that said i take road safety very seriously and the safety of others and i also hate it when idiots fit spotties to there cars and drive around with there headlights/spotties on ect i would also like to add that i very much appreciate the information you have provided,as i was not really aware of it being illegal (especially with the fact i see a massive amount of new cars getting around with them on as posted above ect) and i do appreciate your imput and wanted to say thanks for the info mate
