Default Disabling parkers when normal headlights are on?

    Hey,

Im just wondering is it possiable to disable parkers while the normal headlights are on?

I want to be able to turn parkers on to display a blue LED, and when normal headlights are on the blue parker leds are not on.

if anyone knows is it illegal to have the parker light disabled but the normal headlights on when driving at night?

Even if you disable them... Youll be disabling your rear plate and brake parkers aswell

You can, it would require a relay and cutting/modification of the wiring for the parkers. If you are interested let us know and we can design a circuit for you.

you should be able to cut the parkers out but as kopper said youd have to use another relay or you might be able to jump it through the headlight relay and use the NC contact if its free.

Would be illegal to do so as the Parking Lights are designed to remain illuminated in the event of a headlight globe blowing thus affording oncoming traffic some degree of safety as to the dimensions and proportions of said vehicle. Think that you will also find that it will be illegal to have coloured lamps illuminated at the front of the vehicle unless it is an emergency vehicle or commercial vehicle with clearance lights fitted.

if ya really want to do it i guess this would work, you would need 2 relays one for each side you could prob use 1 but this is prob easier, just make sure u get a relay with an 87 and 87a.

How about if you swapped your low beam relay (with only a normally open contact) for a new relay with the additional normally closed contact and from the new 87a contact run a new wire to each parker. On a vr/s it would be a simple swap over...not sure with a vx
