I'm looking at getting a diff rebuilt (IRS VP Calais), i got 3.45 gears and i'm going to get a 4WD systems Lokka, and was wondering, if i bring a diff in that i have pulled apart + the gears and the lokka, what price would i be looking at to get a rebuild kit supplied (new seals and bearings) and the diff assembled?

And do you open on weekends?

What the manufactors of the gear sets recommend is 500km of no excessive hard acceleration.

With the LSD no donuts at all, also guys doing burnouts when turning out of a street corner will damage a LSD with ease.

I personally dont beleive in running a differential in, as how do u say no hard acceleration and compare what is hard acceleration on eg your vehicle compaired to mine for eg......WOT on yours would be 1/8 to 1/4 throttle on mine see what im saying.

Every car that gears a diff gear ratio change, i guarentee that they give the car hell for days, as evidence is all over the road out the front of the workshop....as its a massive difference over the car a diff ratio change achieves.

I for one have never had a differential failure to not running them in correctly.

U dont see V8 supercars doing 500km's to run a diff and gearbox in.

    I hope this helps

Have you done many diff ratio changes on the Alloytechs yet? I'm looking at changing the standard diff in a 5spd auto 05 SV6 to 3.46's. Also wondering if you'll be able to tune the SV6 at any stage? (It's a long drive to Sydney ) Any help or ideas on what option I would need to take would be greatly appreciated

Yeah I'm just a bit worried that it'll be too steep for the auto box, and that it will rev too high for highway driving

I reckon that I'll change the stock 3.08's to a set of 3.46's cause a few guys have done this up in Sydney and QLD and its still ok for highway driving. Just want to know if enhanced have done any sv6's yet?

yes can help u out with what ever ratio u decide on,

everyone seems to worry about highway km's, how many highway km's would u do a year, as many guys that seem to always ask this question only do approx 500-1000km's a year, for these guys go straight to 3.9's as you will save economy around town, normal engine rpm will rise out on the highway, and u will normally suffer a 1liter per 100km fuel rise with 3.9's fitted.

If going into a Auto, i will suggest a tune is required, due to transmission shift points need to be recalibrated.

Thanks for the quick reply mate. You're probably right about not doing a huge amount of highway driving. Generally I'm just shooting down to Victa for a surf and I never really get to do that much anymore with work...so maybe I'm better off going with 3.73's or 3.91's

I'd like to get a tune aswell. Are you able to tune the SV6's yet? Cause that would be a hell of a lot easier than having to go interstate!

Once again thanks for all your help mate, it's much appreciated

That's great to hear! If you could send me a PM in regards to how much the whole process would cost that would be fantastic. And roughly how much power gain would I get from the tune?
    Thanks again mate

that will depend on oil quality, inspection of how the oil is looking, i recommend transmission fluid to be changed every 20,000km's.

A corvette servo and shift kit will improve the tranmission shifts, a greater and faster shift.
