Can i get a mafless mailorder tune and pop it in my car but keep the stock intake (would i need to unplug the sensor?)?.. Just until i can afford an OTR intake, or will it run like sh*t?
Also, what do you mean by unlocking my current pcm before sending it to you?
And is it possible to get a custom dyno tune with the pcm you send me.. later down the track that is...? It's not locked or anything?

I can answer these on Brads behalf.

With his mail order you can run the tune with the Maf unplugged or plugged with the stock intake. You can have it custom tuned also later down the track.

Just send back your PCM if it has never been tuned, all will be fine.

I will want the mail order tune to match the following...
- Pacemaker Tri-Y's
- High flow cats (i have steel mangaflow 2.5" cats)
- twin 2.5" redback exhaust
- OTR intake

With the above mods, and a mail order tune, any ideas what rwkw figures i'm looking at? Also will there be much fetter fuel consumptions? I'm around 18L-21L per 100km city, with a bit of a squirt here and there. It's a VY Series 1 SS manual. Thanks.

Im sorry as the fuel tank calibrations are part of the VZ LS1 Tune, i will need your PCM to do a mailorder tune on it, hence i dont normally offer this as Postage normally takes a few days and vice versa.

As previously discussed via email, discount will be given.

If you have an exhaust system and air intake, youd be better of getting a custom dyno tune, considering you are local.

i might drop in after i sell my ute and get some spare time, i practically live around the corner. my Vy is completly stock except for K&N panel. short term i want to get cat back and a tune then save up for some extractors, high flow cats and OTRCAI. ( probably not for a while.)

Well guys i spoke to Brad today (was very helpful), and organised a mail order mafless tune for my vy. Should be arriving tomorrow, will let you know how she goes... hoping i'll see a fair improvement.

Got the mail order tune this morning at about 9am (arrived super quick), took me about 30min to change it over, started her up and took it for a drive... boy does she go!... heaps more pull through the gears, really notice the difference getting onto the freeway where you can open her up. Even my missus thinks it is heaps quicker than before the tune... and hopefully i'll see even more improvement when i replace the SS Reductions kit with an OTR intake, as the tune has been setup for an OTR.

it is a killer package that won't dissapoint i can assure you of that...

majority of the cams are supllied to Brad from Crow Cams. and they are all cut to his specifications that he has spent countless hours developing to give us the customers the best possible results.

as i said above, you won't be dissapointed. i have this package in my car and i love it!!!

hey brad, i know iv prabably asked for prices a million times, was going to get some car audio gear next month, but that costs more than the mail order tune, what figures would i get with a mafless tune on a standard motor with mafless tune for pod filter(temporary till i can get money for otrcai) and standard exhaust, on standard vy ss auto.
it is an ex cop highway patrol car, does this make anydifference? is there anything on the pcm thats different to standard gen3 ss's? will it effect speedo calibrations, etc?

how do i tell if my pcm is unlocked?

how much power? torque? and fuel economy would i expect? currently at bout 14.5 around town and 12.8-13.7 on freeway.

also if i buy efi live later on can i use this on it to further the tune or buy a tune off u to upgrade on to pcm when i do future mods?

Expect 2-3 Ltrs per 100Km's better than what you have now.

Approx 20KW power gain, with Torque gains through out the entire rpm range

Transmission shift calibrations changed, speedo calibrated etc etc.

There is no difference if its a ex-police car, all drivelines are the same

As for the tune, no you wont be able to modify the tune if you have EFILive, the tune is locked, this is to protect many hours of R&D, chassis dyno time, drive cycles, etc etc, developing the best product for you the customer.

Hi Brad.. yes the tune was well worth the money... car goes much better... i think i'll be looking at a cam package next, i'm rather liking the power the LS1's have . Will my pacemaker tri-y's be ok for a big cam?

Anyway, following up cpbait's post... do you lock the tune so it cannot be modified and all settings viewed? If you go to get a proper LS1 edit down the track, how does that work? Does the person tuning it have to reset it to stock then tune it to their specs? Is that why you charge $170 if it is locked?

I was speaking to my uncle about the tune... he has an LS1 auto wagon and may consider a tune. He wanted to know how it worked (i'm curious too)... Do you have a whole range of tunes that you have done to cars with various specs and saved them for future use? So say for my situation, you have tuned a car with an OTR and 2.5" twin system with pacemaker tri-y's, saved that tune then used it for my mail order tune?

Also, did you re-calibrate my average fuel readings or have they been untouched? Will post back here with fuel consumption figures in a few days for those interested.
