These days with aftermarket products there is approx a 50% chance it might be ok, i can not say if it will be better than the OE equipment. As normally factory LS1 waterpumps will last alot longer than 40,000km. So is there a problem with your car as to how its failed in a short period of time, has the car really only travelled 40,000km's.
Has the water pump definately failed? or is there a gasket leak?
In all the LS1/2's ive modified, which i cant remember how many, ive only ever replaced 2 water pumps and those were on cars with over 100,000km's on the speedo.
Best thing to do is give me a call, and we can workout a time to inspect whats actually faulty.
