well oil at 5 thousand and filter every 10 is the law try use a semi synthetic oil preferably 10 or 15/40 viscosity.....if you try a synthetic oil monitor the oil level as some synthetic oils can burn

Yeah 5000 kms or 3-6 mths which ever occurs first with a normal multigrade... else 10,000 or 6-12mths with a quality synthetic...
I always do a filter when I change oil to get as much of the old oil out as possible...depends how much you really care for your car.

Default Mobil 1

I can recommend Mobil 1. Depending how many K's are on the car... If it's got very low k's try Mobil 1 10w/30. I used it for a while and was very good. I changed to Mobil 1 5w/50 over the easter break cos I was doing alot of long distance highway driving... I'll probably stick with the 5w/50.

I tried a few different oils in the VN when I had that and came to the conclusion Penrite HPR 15 as Subdue mentioned was about the best for it, of course every engine varies so try a few and see what your car likes.

Mobil 1 I have been happy with, I can't comment on Castrol as I haven't used it in the VY yet.

Here's one for you a co-worker in his pansy Pulsar had Magnatech in there and was complaining about what he described as an oil issue on startup, we changed over to Penrite Friday night and he said that sound has completely gone now.

We normally use and recommend the Castrol 10W/60-R Fully Synthetic as the best for Ecotec and Supercharged V6's. We have been using it for years always very impressed with its performance.

Regards

Tonsta

A noticable difference in what? The oil colour? The performance of the car?

It's expensive but Royal Purple 10W-40 is the best without a doubt.

Ciao ...
