Default Fuel pumps in super6's?

Can someone please tell me is there any difference in the fuel pumps used in a N/A ecotec and those used in a factory supercharged V6?

Yes they are different... the supercharged pump runs @ 2 different speeds depending on the engine demand. I think the N/A one just runs at a constant speed.

Thanks mate. I'll be back at the smash repairers again on Monday asking for a 73 litre tank instead of the 59litre they put in and a new pump.

The S/C pump is physically smaller than the standard pump but flows more, the standard pump will work with S/C engine but will be on the limit at max revs.

Thanks for the info Surfwagon. Since I got the car back from the repairers I've noticed that I'm lacking some power, particularly accelerating off the line. The car feels a very lazy and it's chewing more fuel around the city, but it's ok cruising on a freeway. I have a feeling that has to do with the standard fuel pump they used from a VS acclaim.

Do you have a picture of what this electronic thing is and exactly where it's located?

They are as rare as rocking horse sh*t.
They were only given to Holden Workshops and never released to the public
I bought mine from eBay and have not seen one on there since.

All sorted ?... the thingo is located on the right hand side looking into the boot right at the back about half way up.

Sorry I've no camera to show a photo of it.

Yep, the control module is mounted on rear seat in the boot. I wondered what that was. I hope that it's hooked up though. The repairer is in the process of chasing up a 73 litre tank at the moment.

The controller is only on the supercharged engines to help with fuel economy so that when demand is low the controller slows down the pump to relieve some pressure in the system.
Because mines a transplant I don't have the controller but doesn't seem to affect the economy that much.
Uses slightly more than my original N/A engine around town but still gets 10-9.5 litres per 100klm on a trip.

I should have asked this before but does a different fuel pump also mean a different sender unit?
