Here is a little tip for those who might be planning a trip down this modification route

Centrifugal6 (JC member) is converting his GETRAG 5sp to a T56 Manual trans.

No problem with getting a M Wood kit, you got money Mal's got a kit for you.

Then if you discover your ECOTEC manual has had its genuine manual trans starter replaced with a starter from an automatic model - because its like $500 cheaper you will discover you need to find a manual starter which has no pinion support nose.

So how much -

Holden Dealer $900 for VS V6 Manual starter
Auto electrician - $430 - but couldn't get them anymore
wreckers - $300 - $350 if they know about the situation of price and scarceness

So essentially none of the above are an effective option

Anyhow there is now a solution where you can at least buy one and for a moderate price
