VR Motor into VK Alternator Wiring

Have just finished putting a VR motor with VN computer into our VK off road race car and having a crap of a time working out the alternator.

We have got a known working alternator, coz we think our mate fried the first one we had. What wires need to go where??

I think the pin marked S needs to go to the 12V feed (ie. from the battery isolator), and the L pin needs to go to the warning light on the dash (but where is the other side of the light connected +12v of -gnd).

switched 12 volt ignition feed through alt light then to alternator should be a big red wire to bat + on the bolt and a second little wire runs to the battery too cant remember the colour of the one to BAT and the one for the light
