Helloooo everyone! Anyone who knows anything about fibreglassing please give me a bit of advice. I'm in the process of revamping the interior of my BMW, it's all been pulled out of the car and is sitting in my spare room at the moment lol. But the interior pillar covers have seen better days, the corners are all cracked and are being held together with the old material. (the material is super thin and is impossible to get off so I'm just going to cover over it with new material).
The thing is I was looking at fixing them myself, instead of getting a hold of the beamer dealership and then getting them to get it from Germany and waiting ten years for it. Plus the local dept. of transport guy has defected a few people I know for unroadworthy bits on their cars, and I know if he pulls me over I'll definetly get a big fat orange sticker on my windscreen :-)
So, back on topic. I remember seeing small square sheets of fibreglass stuff at the hardware a while ago and was wondering whether they would work to hold my pillars together when applied correctly. Also a few of the little plastic bits on the back that clip into the frame have snapped off, if I was to have a go at making them up again.. how hard would the fibreglass set and would it work?
Sorry if I'm not making much sense... I'm just a lady who's pulled the interior out of her car.. broke a few things and needs to put it back together (after recovering it in nice black material) lol
Thanks heaps, will post pics in the next couple of minutes...
edit: Just realised I left my camera elsewhere so I'll try and find other pics on google

Thanks, I'm going to head to the hardware tomorrow and get some and have a go. I just don't see the point in spending a shit load on new ones when I can fix it myself, and I'll feel better about the car if I actually get in and do it, it's been bringing me down a bit lately.. as the only registered car out of 5 cars, it gets a bit of a beating. So I'm fixing it up and hopefully I can sell it to a nice old lady or something haha
riteo u need any info just ask iv used a paint brush to lay out the resin id probably go a small roller it may be easier
