i have painted one of my calipers, and while i was there i painted the rotor. it stands out heaps and looks pretty nice. but i dont know if i should paint my rotor black instead, just to make the caliper stand out. any suggestions? pics would be good. cheers

Well the whole idea of painting calipers is aesthetics and if painting the rotor makes the caliper pop then Sir you have answered your own question.
There is a thread in How-to about painting calipers have a peep in there.
Rotor body should be black.
What type of paint have you used on the caliper?
okay i painted the rotor part (now the bark my pads touch but the part that stock out. because it spoils the view when its all rusted like they do. and i painted my caliper red. anyway i was tossing up in keeping my rotor red or painting it black but i think ill paint it black now
hey mate best to do the lot in black saves the pxss fxrting around unleast u got the calipers offhides the dirt to

yeah but i want them to stand out, anyway ive concluded ill do my rotors black and my calipers and the shoe thing it bolts to red
its your call mate just im opinion ive had red before stands out well but not for long breakdust discolour red very quickly then they go black grey!!!!!
Red rotors look tacky and crap imo. Definately paint them black! Do the actual caliper red and black like this, as it also looks tacky and crap painting the rotors completely red lol.
Hope this helps
yeah i love those yours, but you painted the thing which holds the caliper black too. i was gonna do that red to match the caliper, i think i prefer the whole thing to be shown as a bigger looking unit, but i agree my rotor does look a little tacky being red, and definally tacky being rusted
My calipers were originally silver, i painted them blue. and the rotors black. I'm definitely painting the calipers silver again.
Gotta be black.
yeah black hub and red calipers...
I have a problem when painting my rotors, I have to keep painting them because after going for a drive, the paint keeps coming off![]()
are you using proper brake paint?
i always use degreaser and a light sand paper, then rinse it off and let it dry before i paint it!
are you allowing it to dry for a while? i didnt drive my car for like 2 days after i done one of mine just to be sure. also didnt need to use my car
