vr manual conversion

hey guys im wanting to do a manual conversion on my vr v8 5 litre auto commo, can i buy a v6 manual commodore as a donor car and use the parts, will the v6 gearbox bolt up to the v8? can anyone else suggest a gearbox that will bolt up as im not to sure what will, can anybody help me with this information if they have done the conversion thanks

No, the gearbox must be from a V8 as the input shafts are different lengths. Check this thread out, as it will list the parts you will need (even though it is written for a 6). There are other components that are unique to the V8, things like loom and the ECU maybe, also the flywheel would be different, loads of other stuff.
