I thought i would post this thread on this area of the site as this is where people from every state would click on and i need these people!
Im looking at buying a car from another state in a week or so (m from QLD). If the car is registered but does not have a roadworthy will i need to obtain one? Ive heard that you wont need to get one if you buy a car interstate, all you have to do is transfer the rego into your name and your good to go
Also what if the car is UNregistered from another state? Whats the rule with that as well
Im just overally confused as heaps of these cars have no rwc, even if they dont need anything much doing to obtain one id feel safer knowing i wouldnt need to waste time and money obtaining one!
Thanks
HEY l just moved to Vic and got a quick and simple transfer no RWC as it is registered so easy make a booking with RTA in your area to make it even easier. Also depending on the rego of the car you my be able to claim the rego that is remaining from the QLd RTA give them a call or visit there web site.
Hey mate you need a road worthy either way even if it's still rego'd. If you need a roadworthy done. I know a good place you can get it done. They book it in quick and show you exactly what's needed to be done to pass if it fails instead of showing you a piece of paper saying what's needed. Also i haven't been charged for the roadworthy's that didn't pass which is good
