    Default VZ Clubsport brakes???

    Hi guys,
Can you look at these and comment whether you think they are genuine VZ clubby calipers or do you think they are VT's painted red. Did the Clubbys have PBRZ calipers?

    They are stockers painted red.
The rear calipers and pad size are the same for both stock and clubby but the clubby has a different anchor to suit 315x18mm discs (stock 289x16mm).
The front clubby caliper is different, has smaller pistons (better pedal feel), different anchor and is designed for a 330x32 disc, std caliper wont fit a clubby disc as std disc is only 28mm wide and 298 diameter.

    Glad to help.
By the way what are you after, just fronts or F&R and do you definitely want clubby brakes (preferred over the std VT upgrade).

    Cheers

Why were they ripped off? I just had a read of the ad, apart from stuffing up on the size, which he corrected, what he actually posted was correct. He never said they were HSV brakes, only that they were off a Clubsport. Not all HSV's had the upgraded brakes. I suppose the title can be a bit misleading, but once you read the ad it says they are standard brakes by the size correction.

Regardless of whether they came off a HSV, they're dead stock VT-VZ Commodore brakes, and shouldn't be advertised as such. That's like advertising a VZ windscreen as a 'HSV' windscreen because it fits the HSV as well...

Also [and I could be wrong] I didn't think any VZ's came with stock Commodore brakes. I know the earlier ones did, but I thought VZ were either 2 pot PBR C5 upgrade, or 4/6 pot AP calipers.

I think only the R8 came with the upgraded brakes, the Clubsport got standard brakes unless they were optioned up.

And most of the Ebay titles have the performance model in there for standard parts. Do a search for "GT" and you will find GT in the title for standard parts. Same with GTS and probably HSV.

http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_...All-Categories yep....standard parts and even stickers advertised as HSV among other things...

Nup just checked. VY and VZ used the C5 Corvette 'PBR' 330mm front brakes as the 'standard' and the AP's as the 'upgrade'. Ok, so technically the rears are correct because they used the standard rear caliper with the C5 front, albeit on 315mm rotors, but my point is, any body who's buying this as a 'HSV upgrade' for their VT-VZ is getting exactly what they've already got....
