Hi guys,
Can you look at these and comment whether you think they are genuine VZ clubby calipers or do you think they are VT's painted red. Did the Clubbys have PBRZ calipers?
HSV HOLDEN BRAKES AND ROTORS - eBay, Other Car Parts, Accessories, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 13-Nov-09 13:55:50 AEDST)
They are stockers painted red.
The rear calipers and pad size are the same for both stock and clubby but the clubby has a different anchor to suit 315x18mm discs (stock 289x16mm).
The front clubby caliper is different, has smaller pistons (better pedal feel), different anchor and is designed for a 330x32 disc, std caliper wont fit a clubby disc as std disc is only 28mm wide and 298 diameter.

my budget dictates what i can get but i want 330fr twin pots 315rr single pot vented fr and rr...kits are on ebay for around $1900...i think VZ had these and a 4pot option as well...i'd luuuurv a 4pot setup but i cant afford it lol
yeah mate those stock brakes for sure.
VZ had curved slotted rotors i think aswel, with hsv embossed on them.
someones just slapped these together, sneaky bastard.
someones about to get gipped:/
i missed those by $15 but i was at work lol...which was a blessing...then got a second chance offer saying the winner didnt pay which sent off alarm bells so i looked a little harder like i should of in the first place...i could go just twin pot Vt's on the front but with the blower im fitting i'll need bigger brakes to get through rego i reckon so i may as well make it worth while...but $6G plus for 6pot fr and 4pot rr is outta my league unless a kind soul had pity on me and VE 4pots fr and rr are just as dear...a set just went on ebay for $2500 s/h...and the buy it now price was 4G

Why were they ripped off? I just had a read of the ad, apart from stuffing up on the size, which he corrected, what he actually posted was correct. He never said they were HSV brakes, only that they were off a Clubsport. Not all HSV's had the upgraded brakes. I suppose the title can be a bit misleading, but once you read the ad it says they are standard brakes by the size correction.
Regardless of whether they came off a HSV, they're dead stock VT-VZ Commodore brakes, and shouldn't be advertised as such. That's like advertising a VZ windscreen as a 'HSV' windscreen because it fits the HSV as well...
Also [and I could be wrong] I didn't think any VZ's came with stock Commodore brakes. I know the earlier ones did, but I thought VZ were either 2 pot PBR C5 upgrade, or 4/6 pot AP calipers.

I think only the R8 came with the upgraded brakes, the Clubsport got standard brakes unless they were optioned up.
And most of the Ebay titles have the performance model in there for standard parts. Do a search for "GT" and you will find GT in the title for standard parts. Same with GTS and probably HSV.
http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_...All-Categories yep....standard parts and even stickers advertised as HSV among other things...
Nup just checked. VY and VZ used the C5 Corvette 'PBR' 330mm front brakes as the 'standard' and the AP's as the 'upgrade'. Ok, so technically the rears are correct because they used the standard rear caliper with the C5 front, albeit on 315mm rotors, but my point is, any body who's buying this as a 'HSV upgrade' for their VT-VZ is getting exactly what they've already got....
