I have been painting a rear panel on my car. It's the panel underneath the tail light on a VS.
The colours are pretty close. There is a difference to them but not really noticeable..
Was wondering, how do you get the ripple kind of effect out of the clear coat and give it a nice, smooth look. It's this part that gives it off, that shows it's been re painted. Should I just get a mate thats a spray painter to fix it and make it look better or keep trying?
Ive tryed cut and polish on it but nothing happened...
Should I give it a light hit with 1200 grade wet and dry?
ripple effect is removed with a cut back of 1200 or 2000 ,then a buff !is this acrylic or 2pak paint you used ? solid or base/clearcoat ?
If you have a mate that is a painter it is probably easier for him to do it for you as t here is a decent amount of shape and you really dont want to rub through your paint
Well... Ive decided to go do some work at a panel beaters shop. Work there for a few hours a week and eventually the manager will let me bring my car in and work on it.
Get some panel beating skills up and have a beautiful car when im done.![]()
just get a block of wood and block it back.
oh you will need sandpaper on the wood.
