hey guys,
im looking at buying a modern monaro. something around the 2002 mark.
as im a p plater im after a v6.
my question is was there a naturaly aspirated v6 monaro or were they all factory supercharged? if they were all factory supercharged im assuming there not p plate legal?
also if anyone is trying to sell one please let me know.
cheeers
CV6 was naturaly i beleive
Floor it and swerve driving skool
Super 6 wouldnt be P Plate legal.
Why not wait, save your money and when you get off your P's, buy a CV8?
would wait but id rarther get one while im young and dont have the responsibilities of mortgages or kids and so on
Only about 100 V6-powered Monaros were ever sold, so finding one will prove much trickier than tracking down a V8. So unpopular was the so-called Monaro CV6 that it was dropped less than a year after the born-again Monaro went on sale late in 2001.
Thankfully, all V6 Monaros were the supercharged V6, which added power and torque to endow the car with respectable, if not outstanding performance. The downside with the supercharged V6 is that it calls for premium unleaded, which is typically up to 10c/litre more expensive than regular unleaded.
just answered my own question, well half of it. still dont know wat set of laws i fall under as i know some p platers can drive faster cars due to when they got their licence.
They were all super 6's and should never have seen the light of day. Anybody in their right mind would have crushed it as soon as they got it and realized their mistake.
Reaper
and the penalty if caught?
Nah down here its a bit different. You get a big **** off fine and some points.
Heres the law: P plate drivers and probationary prohibited vehicles : VicRoads
Heres the punishment: Demerit Point Offences : VicRoads
Its 3 points. "Probationary driver who drives a probationary prohibited vehicle on a road" usually 3 point offences come with a lovely couple of hundred dollars in fines. Remember though... you do only get like 4 points as a P plater.
Jump in a monaro with P plates you are going to be pulled over left right and center.
as said, any monaro will already be illegal for you to drive. so if you still want to get one anyway (and are prepared to face the consequences), at least get a v8 one![]()
Yeah theres no point breaking the law in the V6 version... you may as well break the law in the V8 one and show some dignity![]()
a v6 monaro. such a waste.
