the exhaust outlet must extend at least 40mm beyond the furthermost outboard or rear most joint of the floor pan which is not continuously welded or permanently sealed . the outlet must not protrude beyond the perimeter of the vehicle when viewed in plan .
if to the side of the vehicle , the outlet must discharge downwards at an angle to the horizontal of not less than 15 degrees nor more than 45 degrees and to the rear of any adjustable window or vent .
VIC ROADS VSI.. hope that explains it for you
On a One tonner, providing it stays within the noise requirements, its fine to cut it off just behind the cab, aslong as it is 40mm past the rear wall of the cab. Cut it off before the diff but after the muffler and put a dump pipe on it.
yeh blownv6hatch thats what the plan was. dumping it after the muffler.
but im gonna do twin pipes first.
this was just to give me an idea as it wont be happening until i have converted it to petrol and fixed the brakes and re sprayed it and sandblasted/powder coated it.
i am not fixing for me though i am doing it to have somethign to do and hopefully sell
thanks guys
Yeh, thats the way i have it on my ute. Not technically legal on a ute, but you get that. Although, i have it exiting just after the diff as when i had it exiting before the diff i found that the exhaust gasses banged straight into the diff housing and it sounded shit, it was also really noisy inside the car. So now, it goes just over the diff and exits about 3 inches past the diff. Made a big difference to the sound....
