    Default VN Commodore Boot Problem

Hey All, I have a problem with what i thought was the numberplate lights, but now i have my doubts.

When the headlights / parkers are on, and you open the boot, the fuse blows
This dosent happen all the time, but usually most times.
Has never blow when the boot is shut, and ive checked all wires in the boot, and the wires that go into the car, with no sign of wear.
Have had it at auto elects and they cant find anything wrong either.

    Anybody have any ideas?
    Would be amazing, thanks

ive tried removing the boot light, the boot light switch, number plate lights, even the glove box light, which is hooked up to the fuse, all to no avail

I want to say you probably could do it that way but I had doubt if anyone has ever bothered. Nor is it likely to get you out of having the toe reset, since almost any sort of disturbance will alter it from it's original setting. The other option might be a split boot -- they're available for some makes but I dunno about a VN. Wouldn't hurt to enquire -- both genuine and aftermarket.

I'm not familiar with vn's but if there is metal surrounding the boot light it is most likely grounding against it whenever you open the boot. Try taking out the boot light and taping around the hole of the boot light with electrical tape, hope it helps
