which injector is bigger. the 5L injectors or the 2.4l magna injectors. i have the option of putting magna injectors into my car but i already have 5l injectors in it now. is it worth the swap. what is each injector rated at.
cheers clint
can any one help
surely someone out there can help with this
oh also which is better. the blue top injectors or the cream top or are they both the same
Blue top ones have a higher flow rate, but wont serve any benefit on a factory 6, chances are it will just make it run alot worse, if it has no tune to suit.

is there even a massive benefit from have later model injectors in the VN ? improve economy much ?
my motor is worked with a cam. i have a chip torque chip tuned for the 5l injectors. it runs good with the 5l injectors but was given some magna ones and was wondering how much more flow they have
i have some blue top injectors if u wanna buy them off me...send me a pm i u do

as far as i know the magna are 440cc well thats what i got told by hipower racing in slacks creek but the 5l ones i have no idea. ive also been told the stock v6 injectors will good for 250kw
whats that in lbs. do you know
i think 440cc is 42lbs you will have to check im only going by what hp racing told me when i was going to turbo my ecotech
they are 22-24lbs. The v8 ones are generally the same as the v6 ones, witch are around 19lbs.
I run blue tops in my sc14 powered v6, any more than 6psi or so and they're useless, same with running them on a car that doesn't need the extra fuel.

and what about the cream top magna injectors. do you know what lbs they are
there is a lot more to injectors then just simple flow rates.
the VN injectors are a very old design and have a poor quality spray pattern when compared to newer injectors. the VN injectors also only work over a very narrow fuel pressure range.
later model injectors have a much beter spray pattern, this means they atomise the fuel better which means you get a better more efficient burn. these type of injectors also work over a much wider fuel pressure range (this is important for the boosted crowd).
the other thing you need to look at is the working presure. most injectors were rated at 3bar (43psi) working pressure. (VN-VS V6) however some are rated at 3.5bar (VT V6 onwards)
most injectors are also what is known as the bosch style pintle and design. there is a newer design that uses a disc that is much lighter. this design has a faster reaction time and can run at a higher duty cycle before you get a loss of fuel flow. you really should go past 90% duty cycle on the bosch/pintle design type injector.
magna style injectors are suppose to have a better spray pattern compared to the VN ones. so although you won't see a power increase, if you run a wide band O2 you may be able to trim the fuel curve slightly and get a improvement in economy.
