im 16 at the min and not sur but iv got a idea for me first car ... im thinking of getting a vr auto and putting the manual t5 gear box in it with the old man but im not sure how much the box pedles center consoul and clutch will all cost . if u some one can help that would be awesome
Im not sure but i've found mechanics that do manual conversions in my area for about $1500 with the parts supplied. I'd rather get it done at one of those then do it myself but thats up to you. Another option would be just buying a VR or VS manual. Saves the work and theirs a few going cheap. I spotted one for $2200 with SS interior on carsales but it needed abit of work like dis-engaing clutch and stuff
Have a shop around and see what you find =)
depending where ur located probz cant drive it because it will be classed as modified?

Hmm thats an odd one. Would that happen? I know in QLD thats not the case, we only have bans on certain power modifications and limits. From what i've heard most other states are alot easier considering V8's are legal
Or you could kill two birds with one stone and just buy one that is manual already. Don't see much sense in buying a car just to do the conversion when it came from factory like that.
Doubt it, as it was a factory component. Anyway, thought those laws were about engine modification?
vk jonno why u ask that (dont u)![]()
Yes I go to school . I don't want to bi a manual cos most cost like $4000 for a good one but a auto will be more like $2000 for awesome condish . So if I can get a cheap box pedles center console clutch and fly wheel I have made a profit when I sell it . depending if any thing happens like damage ....
Mate, I would be more than happy to pay the extra $2000 to get the factory one. After the $1000 - $1500 you spend on parts, then the actual job of putting it in, that's worth at least $500 - $ 1000 (you did say you were going to do it yourself). To me it doesn't seem like it's worth the $500 profit at the end.

iv been working mi arse off for shit pay its not easy
... i would love to buy a manual but i dont have that much cash
..
As I said in your other thread...
Is it for a V6 or V8? V6's the parts can be found for around a grand, for a V8 they are a little more expensive and your probally looking closer to 1500 sometimes more.
Trouble is knowing what you need, you could probally find the parts cheaper if you picked them up individually but you would have to hunt around and know what you needed. Kit would be easier, but more expensive.
...VN/VP/VR/VS's are worth squat nowadays. Its going to cost you more to do the conversion + buying the auto car than it is to just buy the manual car.
yeah true but i think its that lerning thing i wont to now more bout the car and how much shit cost to replace ...... thanx man but i pre set on the idea
