Guys,

Just looking for a bit of advive/knowledge before I decide what I want to do.

Hoping to sell my 07 VE Clubby, so I can start my new project.

Im looking at hopefully purchasing a ex cop omega for a very good price.

What I want to do, is stick the LS7 into it. Ive never done a engine conversion
and am wondering whats involved parts wise.

The crate LS7 doesnt come with loom etc, What parts will I be needing? I wont
be using the stock auto gearbox, drive line etc.

If someone with a bit of knowledge can just give me a basic list of
what the major components il be needing. Im just trying to work out
a budget. I also dont mind paying to get work done, but most will be completed
be me and some mates of myn that are mechanics. Ive also got mates
that are engineers/metal fabricators.

They say the LS7 is a direct bolt on into VT-VE Commodores. Is this into V8 models?
or all models? Also, what gearbox is recommended?

Sounds like it could be a wicked project mate!

Nothing like an LS7 into a poverty-pack to excite the nether regions:spot on:

Stick a 6spd in it (manual)

Cant help you with how easy it'll be however. Should be good fun, keep us updated!!

** you will need engine, loom(from factory V8, or get a 'painless wiring kit'), ecu, (does the crate motor come with accessories(manifolds/injectors/tb/etc?)
trans/gearbox, clutch/converter, engine mounts/adaptors, i would say different suspension and brakes to handle the extra weight and power from the LS7,
fuel lines/pumps/filters, bigger radiator/thermo's, etc.

The list could go on forever.

Yep, the crate engine comes with maifolds, injectors, clutch and all. Il need the Loom and ECU to get it going.

This will be a long term project, so at first, all I want to do is get it going, then the performance upgrades such as brakes/suspension etc

Also, if anyone knows of anyone selling any drive trains or gearbox's that can handle the power, let us know.

What kind of standard do you expect the chassis and suspension to be in on a ex-cop Omega?

why not stick the ls7 into into your clubby?

yeah, your going to be spending a good 22,000K on the engine alone, then the cost of the box (tremec TS6060 6 speed manual) so why not put it in a nice car, you can also sell your current driveline to ease the cost of the LS7

Have you consulted an engineer on this??
