hi fellas i went to start my vp yesterday and my alarm/central locking remote would not unlock the car. so i unlocked the with the key wen i open the alarm went off. had to go to the engine bay and use the alarm key to turn it off but the indicators were still going. to stop that i tried disconnecting the alarm from the plug where the speaker/key of alarm is and it still had the hazards going. could not start the car in any of those occasions. the car was fine wen i left it?!!! is it my remote??
or something more?? its a 93 spak vp with vr engine with afew extras. can sum1 please help?![]()
I am guessing it’s a aftermarket alarm fitted if it is.
The alarm needs to see the wireless signal from the remote. This is what arms the alarm and disarms it.
Check the battery on the remote might be dead.
i have put new batteries. how do i disconnect the alarm completeley??
can any1 help?
Well its a matter of finding the alarm module and cutting the wires that have been tapped into the factory wires. Make sure you tape the factory wires up after cutting the alarm wires off.
And then there should be a relay wired up that is used for immobilizing the car. Find this relay and figure out which wire should join back together. Figure out what circuit it is immobilizing. (Starter/Efi/Fuel pump)
This is for a basic alarm. There's alarms out there that Immobilize The starter and EFI at the same time.
So if your not confident get a mate that knows or a Sparky to do it.
well if you go through my first post it does not start atm. do you no where th alarm is usually installed/the sensor for the remote?
find the module on the back theres a plate you can remove inside ther are some switches flick all off them to opposite of what they are and it should disarm my vn i just bought has an alarm that wasnt working flicked the switches and now im immobilised
Find out what the alarm is immobilizing and bypass this and the car will start.
Look under the steering Colum and further down i have found this is were most installers immobilize the car using aftermarket alarms
mine was in the centre console under the radio can be anywhere is it a factory remote or aftermarket may be as easy as turning the key in the passenger door jam
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
yeah my immobiliser relay and all was under there tapped into the wiring

same thing happen to sons s15, what it was water was entering in the system where you use key to disarm if your car is getting worked on (the box under the bonnet to disarm with your alarm key)
he had to replace this box cost was about $100 through autobarn.
I hope this helped a bit.
oh okay makes sense, i will look into that. do you no ifi can completely disarm ir completely in the mean time? and was your sons car not starting?
