    Default Live Axle Diff.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if a V6 live axle diff could handle the power of a V8 if it was spooled and 3.9 gears.
    Cheers

Can't see why not, as long as it's not like 600HP lol.

I'm running a VK 6cyl borgy diff under my VK wagz (warm 308) which has 4.11's and a minispool, and that copped a bit of abuse.....hasn't done much work tho.

the only difference between a V6 and V8 BW78 diff is that the V8 version has shot peened gears. everything else is the same

( SHOULD ) be ok as long as the diff isnt old and flogged out and you dont give it a hiding.. Unless you plan on doing burnouts or drag comps with it, it wont handle that kind of torture.

the BW78 diff is good for a 10sec pass in a commodore assuming it's in decent nic. there are probably some that are going quicker. plenty strong

factory LSD is a but average but even that can be fixed with a decent rebuilt of the LSD center.
