Sunroofs.. does it mess with originality?

Hey all ive got a vs clubby and have been thinkin about a sunny, but definately dont want to do it if it makes it not original??

If you are keen and have the funds you can always buy another roof pan and have it replaced.

But i vote a sunroof. Different is sometimes better.

You could always tell people it was factory fitted as an option

i think stuff like that is ok,its when you replace the tail lights with clear crappy looking ones or when people will replace the bodykit off a genuine ss with a cheap aftermarket clubsport bodykit etc

I test drove a VR clubsport today ... someone had put clear tail lights on it .... The tail lights didnt sway my intention as i would replace them, but the sludge coming from the front of the manifold did ... some one once said 'if there is sludge, walk away', and i did ....
First time i've driven the 5ltr and by golly now i want one... was a manual too.

OP ... go the sunroof if you want, make the car your own .....

get a sunroof. theyre overrated, but who cares about being original on a clubsport. GTS/Senator 215i would be a different story

Your car and you're supposed to enjoy it.

If you end up selling it down the track and the buyer wants to know if it's a facotry sunroof, cross that bridge once you get to it.

I know that when I get my next car, if it doesn't have a sun roof I'm putting one in.

But they have a trim cover (on factory fitted ones) so the sun still cant get in, 'according to that article haha'

It will only add value to the car anyway as it is a luxury.

Until I broke my neck (three places mind you) I was actually installing sunroofs into brand new commodores, falcons, vw, bmw etc. Not many commodores come out with a sunroof from the factory most are ticked as an option when purchasing the car and most dealers will then send the car out to a motor trimmer to have the sunroof installed. The best way to tell is usually the ones from the factory have the glass sitting flush with the turret (ie no black trim ring around the glass). Either way, factory or non factory it shouldnt mess with the originality

Non factory does mess with the originality. Original is how THAT car came from the factory.

I dont see why so many people care about crap like this tho, make the cars your own, and do what you please.

Look at geoffs vs clubby. when he bought it, it didnt have the moonroof. he saved some cash and got one.... looks mad.

When you have one on your own car, and you see the sae model without one... it looks weird.

yeah you do get more wind noise, but i usually keep the fabric cover closed to minimize it. i wouldnt buy one, only get a car that had one already
