ok guys my names william , im almost 18, i am wanting a project, so heres the deal, i used to drive a vh blue motor , 6 cyl trimatic auto, now i retired that and bought a manual vr v6. so i have the vh wagon just sitting around not doin much,i work a a apprentice mechanic and we have accuired a vr v6 auto (no box) some parts i borrowed already, now this week we have been pretty quiet so i was brainstorming.. so basically i want to put a vr v6 , which was orignally auto and bolt it up to a t5 and slap it in the wagon. now i was gonna slap the whole front end from the vr in the vh , but after some reading the track width is 40mm or so bigger than the vh . . . . .soooo i did some more reading and found that vn / vp have the same front track width as my vh. now wat i wanted to do was use the vr motor and a vn/vp front end eg , k frame struts , the hole lot. and bolt it up to a t5 etc, now i want to no can i use a vn11/vp loom and ecu and get a manual memcal instead of using the vr autor loom and tryin to modify to suit,
the plans for the motor are a bit out of the ordinary, i want to get rid of the injection and put twin 45dcoe webers on it, i wanted carby's mainly due to the easier tuning of it, and no rev limiter , i do relise u can get rev limiter removed.i will probably just leave the motor as a stocker for now any way and wen i blow it up go for something stronger in the bottom end , anyway i would get the memcal redone so it deletes the fuel side of things and just use the computer for spark etc. now will this pose any problems, it will probably end up as a burnout car or weekend car if i can get away with it. just would like some opinions.. do you think it will work and your thoughts
i dont know how you would go deleting the fuel side of it out because the as you should know those motors dont have a manual fuel pump like the blue motors not unless you are to get fuel tank and electric pump complete out ov a vl or a fuel injected vk only because the tanks ( SHOULD ) fit your vh. and again deleting the fuel side of it you would have to think about the o2 sensor, map sensor and the others on your throttle body??? but definately do some more research on that side of it because it sounds like an interedting project indeed. Josh.
ok, i have just spoken some more to my uncle, the brains behind this project. i will probably jus run a low pressue elec. fuel pump. run a return line or get another tank or something . . . .this is going to be a budget build.
now the brains tells me , you dont need an o2 sensor so delete that off memcal hopefully , coz all that tells me is how rich or lean its running. so scrap it. map sensor , will work it out either by gettin a new on or just mounting that one? we think the tps hopefully could be relocated onto the carby if im lucky other wise a a different one will be sorted and mounted. hopefully i will get started soon. just waiting to transplant a 5l inj, and turbo 700 into a into a customers hq wagon before my boss will help me out on mine.
so does anyone no if u can put a vn/vp loom onto a vr engine and run a vn/vp ecu and manual memcal. and if a vn/vp front end will pose any problems in the frotn of the vh
cheers
any other help appreciated. keep the post coming
the loom and memcal should be fine to. if you are puting carbies on it you are right to you wont need 02 sensor because you can adjust air/fuel mixture on them as you know.
