    Default IRS vs. Live Rear Axle

    Hey All,

    What would be the best setup in terms of a) handling, b) comfort, and c) strength/power handling, out of the following,

    1) IRS that can be adjusted to zero degrees camber, or;

    2) Live Rear Axle?

    Both setups will have good quality aftermarket parts (bushes, adjustable parts etc.), good shocks and springs (Bilstein, Koni and the like), and lowered to around the height of my car at the moment (see attached).

    Also, both setups will be in VR Sedans..

    Cheers, Brendan

    I hope you mean different cars, because the systems aren't interchangable (well they are, but i personally wouldn't bother cutting the whole floor out of a car for it)

    IRS pros:
    Handling
    Comfort

    Live Pros
    Strength/power handling (not the centre itself thats weak on IRS, just the cradle is a weak setup)

    Probably live rear end for power handling, as you don't have CV joints in the axles either. Depends on how much power you want to run I guess. There are places that make strengthened axles for IRS setups though.

    I'd prefer an IRS Setup for the handling, my hate has a vs sedan with a live axle and it handles alot worse than my irs.
