i have terrible irs in my vq caprice ive tried all sorts, taken it to heaps of places only made it a lil bit better.my mate has a vy cluby an is low as an the wheels are dead straight with no stinking camber kit in it...so i was wondering if all irs is the same so i could put maybe vz or vy irs in my vq an is v6 irs different, any help on this would be freaking awsum!!
Wheres the Qs at!?
4point camber kit should do the trick, ino a 2point wont do stuff all.
What have they done when uve taking it to places
I can do you a 4 point kit for $175 posted.
The VQ is different to the later ones and you can't change them over. A common fix is the VX 2 IRS into the VT-VX 1 so it gives you some adjustment. Is your rear cradle OK? If it is cracked it will give you really bad camber, reverse the car about 2 metres, then get out and look at the rear wheels, if they are really REALLY bad then you may have a cracked cradle. If there isn't much difference between that and where they normally sit, then the only fix is a camber kit.
they just put it on the laser machine but they fix the camber then tow is out its one or the other or half ov each an that is what i have now an yeah the cradle is fine so wots the dif between 2 point an 4point kit i put one in it but i dont no what is aye it had the 4 nolathane bushes if that what you mean?
Wheres the Qs at!?
The 4 point kit has 4 adjustable bushes, two each side, they replace the standard inner control arm bushes.
Sounds like you have the 4 point kit already, maybe the guys that are doing it don't know how to set it up correctly.
clubbys should have a factory camber kit I believe?
Hit the star under this post if it was any help to you =D
IRS hates you too...
yeah thats it the 4 point one i got they dont do really a whole lot most of the shops i take it to cant doit cause they cant fit the clamps under my rear gaurd or they tell me to take else where lol thanks for ya help an Maxxiz EAD
Wheres the Qs at!?
Its pretty hard to find sumwhere that has a aligner that fits under tha spats.
I got camber kits waitin for mine, i just cant be stuffed doin it, i buy $100 rear tyres that get eaten away i dont care for that much.
i have 1deg neg camber, how bad is urs?
if your camber is really bad and no matter of adjustment fixes it, you can get your IRS arms 'bent' to give you that little bit more..
IRS is complete S**T and holdens idea of it is the worse

Would you rather a live rear axle with leaf springs?
IRS is far superior to any live axle setup, if it's a good design.
Unfortunately, up until VE, Holden had an absolute shit 'semi-trailing arm'IRS design - based on an 20 year old Opel system
The VE system is light years ahead & fully adjustable
IRS Is great however holden's desgins are far outdated. My VS had the same IRS as my mate's 1971 318i ..
