Hey everyone, I am a 15 year old, 2 Month's i go for my L plates, I am going to start working soon and save up to get my first car, I want it to be a Commo, But i don't know what one, As you know when a 15 year old works, even if it is a man's job, it is shit money, so i will not have alot of money to spend, And my parent's are being complete homo's and won't give me anything.
So i was just wondering, What is the cheapest commodore model, But atleast looks decent?
    1990's around that.

don't expect a hugely reliable car for $500 though! If you have a couple grand, maybe get a tidy vr/vs or even vt 6cylinder exec.

Worthwhile spending the couple grand on a reliable car first up. Buy a shitter and you will be spending thousands to get it up to spec and to keep it on road. What sort of money are you thinking of spending?

If you can save up around $3000 mate you will pick yourself up a very nice and reliable VS V6 with the newer ecotec motor (not the older buick motor in the vn-vr) . That will have some go, look great if you do a few things to it and get you around safely and without worry.

I'd be more keen to get a half decent vn/vp than pushing for a vr in that money mate.

for $1000 your best bet would be to look on ebay, ive seen some fairly decent vl's, vn/vp's go for under 1000 with rego.. you just have to look every day as there are new cars popping up on there all the time...

Yep, alot of parts on the vr tend to be more expensive to replace, not to mention things like the auto box in them are not as reliable as the older non-electronic types found in the vn-vp.

And a vs is pretty much a gutless vr(someones bound to correct me with specsheet figures haha) so dont go there also.

But at the end of the day, look at the models, vn/p/r and decide what one you like the look of best, and then go from there.

hey man if u look hard u can pick up a decent VP for $1000 i just brought a really tidy VP 5.0L berlina for $1200 but with no reg and needed some tlc but now its nice all up around $2200 to get it cruising so if i can get a V8 for $1000 im sure u will findy a tidy V6 for that price

As you thought mate, i'll disagree with you there my vs was far from gutless and had much more go than both my mate's vr's..

Ecotec in the vs is 147kw / 130kw in the vr? But either way, this is a bit off topic.

Don't do the noob mistake of spending cash on your first car.. believe me you will regret it. Wait until your of age and buy a decent v8 then whack some cash into it. For now, settle for something that is cheap, reliable, good on fuel and isn't for a guy with no penis. I will list some examples.

    - Mitsubishi Magna
    - R31
    - toyota camry

etc etc you get my drift. If you buy a shit box vn/vp/vr you will pour your pocket money into it with no avail. Do yourself a favour and get an a to b car that you wont bother spending money on because once it comes to crunch time and you have to sell your 'modded' vn/vp/vr.. your going to shit your pants and munt on yourself at the same time when you figure out how much money you spent on mods that went down the drain.

ke70 or ae71 rolla's still go cheap though. and with a 4age can slide with the best of them.
