    I'm having a debate with a mate,......Were V6 Commodores ever made with STEEL heads?

    As far as I'm aware they're all Cast Iron.
    You haven't mistaken heads for headers/exhaust manifold. VN S1 had steel exhaust manifolds.

    Buick (VN-VR) cast iron, Ecotec (VS-VY) cast iron, Alloytec (VZ-VE) aluminium, SIDI (VE) aluminium. So AFAIK no
