I have been following this thread mate and you have certainly had a hard run i am not a fan of holden dealerships but thought there had to be one good one out there looks like you have found it.But are you sure they are not just stringing you along here because it seems to be taking a long time. Even with you only paying for parts your pockets must have big holes in them by now hope it gets fixed soon.
hi rise manifold and carby?![]()
Thought I must have replied on here ages ago but it seems I didn't sorry people.
Ok After all that time I was only charged parts and not a cent labour..So hats off to the Local Holden dealership..
Now we fitted 3 distributors all with new sensor plates and using a oscilloscope all showed the proper wave form at the computer for the fuel injection but the computer still would throw a code 49.
I was contacted by a guy from NZ on another forum who had the same problem with a customers car and it was only cured by fitting a complete brand new old stock distributor. So with nothing to lose I tracked down a brand new old stock Bosch VT distributor put it in and this cured the problem...
So why are the old distributors so touchy on a couple of 5ltr VT's and not others.. I have no idea. Im sure the other 3 distributors would work fine in most other VT's but not mine.
Nearly everything was changed nearly three times including new memcal/ computer/ engine module/ coil/ distributor/ wiring/ earths checked and rechecked...We even put a new old stock Bosch sensor plate in a distributor with no luck..But a whole new distributor cured it.....I have no answer to this mystery, nor does anyone else but she is running perfect now...
Cheers!
