t700 and 4l60e extension housings ...information needed

hey guys i hope this is the right thread and hasnt been asked before. ...i want to know is it possible to put a t 700 extension housing on a 4l60 e so that i can run the vn type speed sensor because it has the provision for a cable to be put in as opposed to a 4l60 that runs a reluctor wheel set up.. reason i ask is because i want to put an ecotec v6 and 4l60 into a vh and want to keep original speedo and i figured that if i could change the housing and relevant insides . (to go from reluctor wheel to gear set up) and run a VDO inline speed sensor and cable jobbie??? make sense

the 4l60e ecu uses the speed signal from the same sensor and wont work with the t700 sensor output you would have to run some kind of convertor box .the t700 threadedd peice comes out just like the 4l60e and fits in but the trigger wheel has straight cut gears instead of angled so you can just fit it and go you need to swap the cog on the output shaft

y wont the sensor work?because vn is 10 pulses then divided by 5? and the vs is 4 ? i think ....could you please rephrase wat you said as im not sure wat your sayin......r u sayin that i can just unbolt both housings and just put the t700 gear inside the 4l60e and use the t700 extension housing? i was goin to use a vdo vss to cable job installed on the vn extension housing ? as the vn runs a cable type speed sensor and the vs runs a reluctor??

the 4l60e uses a 2 wire sensor and the t700 uses a 3 wire.they both put out different waveforms ones squarewave output the other i cant remember of hand think its sine wave .depends what your sensor/cable drive adaptor you have as to what ouput its putting out.fitting the t700 sender into a 4l60 they just fit right in theres the screw thread to screw cable on but then behind that its held in with 1 small bolt and the whole threaded part comes out just like the 4l60e sender does.so all you really need to do is swap the cog on the output shaft.

so i need to run a vs speed sensor so how can i do this???? but i need to run a cable aswell........im having a hard tme picturing wat your talking about ....my bad :-( ...your patience is probably wearing thin but i would apprecitate it if you could help me out ... tell me what you would recommend doing in this situation as i just cant se wat your talking about ..... doent the vn screw onto the housing and the vs slides in and is retained by a bolt ?

both slide in like that just the vn one has a cable fitting on it

oh ok .....my bad....so could you please explain wat the difference is between sine wave and square and why it would make a difference
. i am unsure what the adaptor pulses as i havent got it and i couldnt find it on the net either

the computer wont read the signal coming out the sender which will stop it controlling the auto .so you need either the right kind of sender output on your cable adaptor,or you need to get a convertor box to convert the output to what the ecu wants to see
