Crank angle sensor or air flow meter?
i would leave it over night or for a few days, so that everything has time to dry out and then try and turn it over.
If all else fails HIT IT WITH A HAMMER !
Country Ute.
the RB30's are terrible for this. Although strange that you have fuel & spark, but no start..... They are the basic ingredients for ignition.
I remember when I worked at a Holden dealer, we refused to wash VL engines, because you'd spend the next half hour trying to get the bastard started...
the crap Bosch engine management system doesn't use weatherproof connectors. In fact their connectors tend to fall apart when you pull them apart...
the main problem areas are the distributor cap (which you already checked), crank sensor connector (side of distributor), and all the other engine related connectors. I used to just get an airblower and remove one connector at a time, blowing out the water. Eventually I'd get it started again.
This happened to my old Nissan about 3 years ago at the car wash, bought 2 cans of water dispersant and sprayed it all over the motor and still nothing.
Tried to get it started for about 3 hours, about once every 30 mins so I wouldnt flatten the battery but it wouldnt start so I pushed it to a park and left it there.
I come back about 8 hours later and it started first try, it spluttered a little at first but with in minutes it was just like normal again.
Even though I double and triple checked everything for water it was no good, just had to dry out by its self.
yea the vl where the commys to go fully electric apart from the vk's any way all the plugs and conections where shit on all of them i suggest when u get it sorted u coat the dizzy and all other connections with some vasoline because even washing the body of vl's and even driving in a good bit of rain can cause u a never ending search of the problem otherwise u will have to do wat all the other lads have said and wait a day or two but im sure you or your young fella cant afford that.. good luck.
