a friend of friend had there car rear ended by a hit and run, by a red commodore SS VR/S/T type model and all they could get was the letters from the plate unfortunately no numbers so the cops said there are too many of those commodores with those exact letters in the same format (eg STF, not FTS etc) so im just wondering what the chances are of this being true?
id have thought there would be very little chance of this being true

they only just got there car back on the road friday afternoon and they got hit saturday around 10:50am, the car that hit them will have front end damage, if anyone sees it around brissy can you please pass on the details would be greatly appreciated :-)

the letters on the offending car were MXL, the accident was around bowen bridge road at the lights that turn into gregory terrace (near where the roadworks are happening)
