Transmission questions?

Question

Choosing out of an automatic or manual gearbox, what would cost more to make it reliable enough to run around 600hp in an ls1? What is more fun/frustrating to drive on the weekends only? All opionins are appreciated

Well the only trans worth putting behind a 600HP engine is a Turbo400
Standard trans even beefed up is hit and miss and by the time you blow a couple up you would have paid for a manual conversion.

I ripped my auto out and went t56 / Tex Z-grip for that exact reason.

Autos are for Grannys.

Cost about 7k fitted brand new but worth every cent.
